Tornadoes Writing

Tornadoes
Author's Note-In this Writing I am trying to work on organizing my paragraphs better. I wrote this piece because I just finished a project on tornadoes and needed to write something on it.

1531 tornadoes hit the US in 2010 and the costs to fix everything that got broke were 1.07 billion dollars. One of those tornadoes happened in Eagle, Wisconsin. Tornadoes usually form in the middle of the US and produce a lot of damage. I think every family should have a plan for if a tornado hits their house or near it.

On June 21st, 2010 there was a tornado in Eagle, Wisconsin. Thanks to Greg, a man my dad used to work with gave me information on the tornado since he lives in Eagle. At 9:30 there were 70 mph winds. When he woke up he found that there were mailboxes torn out of the ground including his. He also found that there were garage doors sucked in and pushed out from the 70 mph winds. In almost every yard there were trees torn out of the ground and on top of some houses. This was a devastating tornado that tore up Eagle, WI on June 21st, 2010.

Most tornadoes form in the same way and region. Tornadoes form from thunderstorms and thunderstorms are created when there is warm and moist air in a cold front going east. Tornadoes usually form in Tornado Alley but not all of them because Wisconsin isn’t in Tornado Alley and there was a tornado in Eagle, Wisconsin. Tornado Alley consists of 8 states including Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota. It is called Tornado Alley because there are so many tornadoes there since there are warm fronts coming from the west and cold fronts coming from the east. When they collide they usually create thunderstorms and tornadoes.

There are a few ways for a tornado to form but the main reason is for a cold and warm front to collide to form a thunderstorm and then a tornado. Most of the 1531 tornadoes that occurred in 2010 happened in Tornado Alley because of warm and cold fronts. Thanks so the tornado in Eagle we have learned more about tornadoes. Sadly it ruined people’s houses and yards. I think every family should have a plan for if a tornado hits their house or is near it.

  1. In your writing I only found one mistake, was when you said "that got broke", you could've said everything that got broken, or destroyed, besides that it was a pretty good post, though you could've made the paragraphs a little longer.
